Epiphone Black Electric Guitars

The Epiphone Guitar Company was established in 1873 by Anastasios Stathopoulos. In 1957, this company was bought by Chicago Music Company who owned Gibson Guitar Corporation. Epiphone was the main rival of Gibson in the archtop market. The Epiphone archtops like the Deluxe, Broadway, Emperor and Triumph rivaled those of Gibson. Aside from the guitars,
Epiphone also made banjos, bass guitars and other instruments. When Stathopoulos moved to the States in 1903, he continued making his original instruments, mandolins, from Long Island, New York. He died in 1915 and then his son, Epaminondas took charge. Just after the World War I, Epiphone started making banjos in 1924 and four years later, took ‘Epiphone Banjo Company’ as new name.
The company produced its first guitar in 1928. Today, among all the products of this company, the Epiphone Black electric guitars are very popular, like ‘Epiphone Nikki Sixx Blackbird’, this guitar has killing looks and it has a thundering bass sound and powerful rock bass tone. This guitar is built from solid mahogany to give ample sustain and a bolt-on, hard maple neck to give great playablity.
